BTS Wraps Its North American Tour: 8 Korean Words Every Fan Can Use

BTS has wrapped the North American leg of its Arirang world tour after 31 sold-out dates. According to KBS World, the group performed for about 1.92 million fans across the tour, with four sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles closing this leg.

For many international fans, a BTS concert is also a small Korean-language lesson. You hear Korean greetings, fan chants, words of encouragement, and the warm phrases artists use at the end of a show. 3. 응원 (eung-won) — support, cheering

응원 means support or cheering. It is not only for concerts: people use it for sports, exams, and friends starting something difficult.

The ending -할게요 expresses a willing promise: “I will do it.”

4. 팬 (paen) — fan

팬 is the Korean form of “fan.” You will hear it constantly in K-pop interviews and news.

저는 means “as for me / I,” while 이에요 means “am” after a noun.

5. 앵콜 (aeng-kol) — encore

공연 (gongyeon) is another word for a performance or show. It is a little broader and more formal than 콘서트.

8. 고마워요 (go-ma-wo-yo) — thank you

고마워요 is a warm, everyday “thank you.” Artists and fans use it constantly because it feels personal without being overly formal.

와줘서 고마워요.

와줘서 comes from 오다 (to come) plus “for doing.” It is a useful pattern for thanking someone for an action.
