이때 중요한 것은 There is no problem.

“We noticed that the main peak retention time shifted slightly compared with the previous run. Is this something we should be concerned about?”

  • “We observed a slight shift in retention time.”
  • “The shift was consistent across the sequence.”
  • “The peak identification was not affected.”
  • “The relative retention times remained consistent.”
  • “The critical peak resolution remained within the acceptance criterion.”
  • “We’re reviewing whether the shift is related to mobile phase preparation or column equilibration.”
  • “There was no significant impact on the quantitative results.”
  • “The method continued to meet the predefined system suitability criteria.”
  • “At this stage, we consider this a chromatographic variation rather than a method-performance issue.”

retention time became different보다 a slight shift in retention time이 훨씬 자연스럽습니다. shift는 변화 자체를 중립적으로 설명합니다.

Retention time은 mobile phase preparation, column equilibration, column condition, flow-rate accuracy, temperature처럼 여러 조건의 작은 차이와 함께 움직일 수 있습니다.

We observed a slight shift in retention time compared with the previous run.

The shift was consistent across the sequence.

The peak identification was not affected, and the relative retention times remained consistent.

Critical parameter

More importantly, the critical peak resolution remained within the acceptance criterion, and all system suitability parameters met the predefined criteria.

passed 대신 met the acceptance criterion 또는 remained within the acceptance criteria를 쓰면 validation 문서와 client discussion에서 더 정확합니다.

There was no significant impact on the quantitative results.

“We noticed that the main peak retention time shifted slightly compared with the previous run. Is this something we should be concerned about?”

“We did observe a slight shift in retention time compared with the previous run. However, the shift was consistent throughout the sequence, and the relative retention times of the impurities remained comparable. More importantly, the resolution of the critical peak pair and all other system suitability parameters met the predefined acceptance criteria. We’re reviewing possible contributing factors, such as mobile phase preparation and column equilibration. Based on the current data, we don’t see any significant impact on peak identification or quantitative results.”

Possible cause

The mobile phase made this problem.

We’re reviewing whether the shift is related to mobile phase preparation or column equilibration.

The shift may be related to slight differences in mobile phase preparation.

  • ❌ “The retention time became different.”
✅ “We observed a slight shift in retention time.”

shift in retention time은 chromatographic discussion에서 자연스러운 표현입니다.

  • ❌ “Maybe the mobile phase made this problem.”
✅ “The shift may be related to slight differences in mobile phase preparation.”

  • ❌ “But resolution is still passed.”
✅ “The resolution continued to meet the acceptance criterion.”

Validation parameter는 보통 criterion을 meet하거나 do not meet한다고 표현합니다.

  • ❌ “So there is no problem.”
✅ “Based on the current data, we don’t see any significant impact on method performance.”

“Although we observed a slight shift in retention time, all critical system suitability parameters remained within the predefined acceptance criteria, with no significant impact on method performance.”

이 문장은 retention-time shift뿐 아니라 column-to-column difference, small chromatographic variation, robustness discussion에서도 재사용할 수 있습니다.

“We observed a slight shift in retention time, but the shift was consistent across the sequence. The critical peak resolution and all other system suitability parameters continued to meet the predefined acceptance criteria. Based on the current data, we consider this a minor chromatographic variation rather than an indication of a method-performance issue.”

“We consider this a minor chromatographic variation rather than an indication of a method-performance issue.”
